a masque good enough to eat

That’s my husband dipping his finger in the cocoa & oatmeal masque I made for my face. It was pretty yummy.
Making these products has gotten me thinking a lot about how I am pretty good about being aware of what I put in my body but I haven’t been quite as aware of what I’m putting on it.
Here are some of the ingredients listed on the normal face masque I normally use: Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Phenoxyethanol, Citronellol, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone, Hexyl, Hexyl Cinnamal, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Hexyl, Linalool, Fragrance (Parfum), Red 33, Blue 1.
I have no idea what most of those are and don’t think I’d find my husband trying to eat them out of the container. Here are the ingredients I used for my homemade masque:
2 T. cocoa (a natural antioxidant to protect skin)
3 t. oatmeal powder (a gentle exfoliator)
1/4 c. honey (a natural antibacterial agent that opens pores)
1/3 c. heavy cream
blend them all together and then keep away from your husband so you can use scrub in gentle circles on your face. keep on for 20 min & rinse.
